The average seasonal temperature in Armenia during the spring of 2026 was 4.3°C, which was 0.7°C below the seasonal norm. Total precipitation reached 260 mm, exceeding the spring average and amounting to 131% of the seasonal norm.
This was announced during a press conference by Levon Azizyan, Director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center.
“This year’s spring was the 12th wettest since 1935,” Azizyan said. “March was the wettest month and, throughout the entire history of meteorological observations in Armenia, it was the wettest March ever recorded.”
Azizyan added that at the high-mountain meteorological stations of Amberd and Aragats, monthly precipitation totaled 218 mm and 279 mm, respectively—three to five times above normal.
“The snow cover at the high-mountain Aragats station reached 324 cm on March 28, marking a record high for that period in the entire observation history of the station,” the director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center stated.
